Hello KELSET Families,

Hope all of you are doing well, staying healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. Last week was a very busy week witseveral virtual meetings scheduled to connect with staff to begin planning for this new learning environment and to become familiar with new resources and learning tools to support our students and families.

There are several items that are important to pass along to ensure you are updated with the latest information:

Teacher Contact last week our teachers have been reaching out to all their students and families to reconnect. The teachers will soon begin providing approximately 5 hours of literacy and numeracy opportunities per week. Teachers will be in contact with you on a weekly basis with a suggested learning plan. Also, teachers will be sharing the best way to contact them, should you have any questions. Classroom teachers and support staff are missing seeing their students each day and are looking forward to getting started in this new learning environment.

Resources to Help Support Learning

learn.saanichschools.ca - parents can click on 'Resources’ and then ‘Parent/Guardian’ to find links to websites that are aligned with curriculum goals and objectives.

Open Schools BC - this is a very helpful resource for parents - www.openschools.bc.ca/keeplearning   There are several helpful links:

  • Learning from Home
