As part of the comprehensive process of developing the overall school and class organization for the 2020/202school year, many factors are taken into consideration as staff discuss possible class configurations and placement of individual children. Our goal is to create a balanced learning community that equally distributes:

  • Academic needs

  • Leadership opportunities

  • Social emotional needs

  • Gender balance

  • Cultural Diversity and English as a Second Language

  • Peer Relationships

We strive to ensure that each class is a workable instructional and social group.

If you as a parent or guardian have input into your child’s placement for the 2020-21 school year, that you would like the school to consider during the student placement process, please reach out by email to your child’s teacher or to Ms. Crocket-Moore (ccrocketmoore@saanichschools.ca)We value your input; at the same time, it is important to understand that staff members often have specific reasons why students are placed in ways that are different than parents/guardians have requested.

Please DO NOT REQUEST a particular teacher. All teachers are committed to meeting, as best they can, the individual needs of your child.

It would be appreciated if this information could be shared by Tuesday, May 19th.
