Become a ONE TO ONE volunteer tutor and open the world of reading to a child!
Do you have 2 – 3 hours a week during school hours to work one-on-one with our students in the Saanich School District? Our tutors assist students once a week, either in the mornings or afternoons, at a specific school. You must be able to commit to volunteering for the duration of a school year, generally from October-June. You will be developing a relationship with the students you tutor and helping them grow into successful readers.
Now in its 29th year, ONE TO ONE Literacy Society has been providing students who struggle with reading the opportunity to practice reading with a caring, patient adult. We know that this time spent with students directly impacts their confidence and their chance of succeeding academically and in life.
No experience is necessary. We will provide you with training and ongoing support.
