Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the ḰELSET Staff, we would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year and welcome everyone back to school as we begin to settle into a new term.

We are looking forward to a new year, new achievements and enriching learning opportunities within our school community.

Thank you to our entire ḰELSET community for your generous donations towards our holiday food hampers this year. Due to your overwhelming kindness, we were able to almost double the number of holiday hampers from last year. Also, we would like to acknowledge the Beta Theta Master Sorority for their generous donation of gift cards and Islands West Manufacturing Produce Wholesaler for donating several large boxes of produce. We are very grateful for this tremendous support.

Thank you to all of you for your understanding, patience and cooperation in following our COVID-19 protocols and procedures.

As a reminder, please:

  • Arrive as close to the bell time as possible for drop off and pick up
  • Contact the school at 250 655 4648, if you need to pick up your child early or if you need something from the office
  • Complete a health check each day to assess your child. Symptoms to look for include: fever, chills, cough or worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, diarrhea or nausea/vomiting (Health Check Form Attached)
  • We continue to request that parents/guardians not enter the school to ensure our community stays as safe as possible
  • Thank you to all of our families for physically distancing when dropping off or picking up your child and for wearing a mask when this is more challenging. Please continue to respect our pick-up protocols by using the gate along Forest Park Drive when meeting your child on school grounds

We are looking forward to an exciting and enriching term two at ḰELSET!

Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or one of us, if you have any questions or concerns.

Wishing you all the best in 2021!

With gratitude,

Cathy Crocket-Moore Principal
Leila Sinclair-Wise Vice Principal
